The Ministry of Economy (MINECO, for its acronyms in Spanish) promotes the construction of an industrial zone or an industrial operations park on the border between Guatemala and México. This project will be developed in an area of 55 hectares. The alliance among potential Mexican investors and the Guatemalan State would lower transportation and logistics costs, while storage and production would make trade easier.

Estimated cost of investment: US$ 10 million through a public-private partnership framework.
